Transitioning From Old Habits to New Ones In College

Do you remember that first moment you decided college was your next step?
College is not easy, and it is not just because the homework. Ask yourself, what actions did you do or were you doing before college? What actions are you doing now that you want to change? I will be presenting to you, advice on how to transition from old habits to new ones in college.
Now before I begin, I want to share with you how I did transition and how I still am. I am going to be 100% real with you I had no goals, I did not see joy in progress more than often I was sad I wasn't making progress instead of working towards it. I slowly started by created dates for me to accomplish things, such as household task. I tried two colleges before I finally stuck with my third college. I continued to make excuses for why I could not attend class, get homework done, and stop prioritizing things other than my future success. As well as not keeping my word to myself, saying I would, and I should. Over and over again I said I wouldn't do something I always did again. This is a form of procrastination.
How did I break these habits? Each decision I made after the point I told myself I was going to change I altered. First, keep your word with yourself, if you say you are going to do something keep your word. After you can start to change your actions. Example, Tell yourself I will have a positive outlook on things I am currently stressing about. Then when a stressful thought or situations comes up in the moment you have the option / choice how to react you can slowly catch yourself and change the perspective to a positive one.
Well to be honest, I am still working on some. We are always progressing and learning new ways to become better versions of ourselves. I can't say that I am done transitioning, but I have overcome many old habits before college.
